Research Question
The impact of digital technology in supporting small business growth and innovation?
Aim
The aim of this unit is to offer students an opportunity to demonstrate the skills required for planning, managing and implementing a project. They will undertake independent research and investigation for carrying out and executing a business project which meets appropriate business aims and objectives. On successful completion of this unit students will have the confidence to engage in decision-making, problem-solving and research activities using project management skills. They will have the fundamental knowledge and skills to enable them to investigate and examine relevant business concepts within a work-related context, determine appropriate outcomes, decisions or solutions and present evidence to various stakeholders in an acceptable and understandable format.
The impact of digital technology on business activity
Digital technology has revolutionised the way we conduct business. Over the last decade it has dramatically changed traditional business models and transformed business activities. The use of digital mobile technology has provided businesses with a wealth of choice and opportunity. This has enabled existing products to become more profitable and innovative new products to be developed, leading to increasingly diverse product portfolios. Its impact is evident at the core of all key business systems:
Administration - cloud technology enables effective filing, storage and sharing of information.
Communication- social media and mobile technology allows businesses to connect, communicate, collaborate and build relationships on a global scale.
Storage and Distribution - `The Internet of Things’ is connecting and integrating systems throughout business structures.
Production - Artificial intelligence and big data analytics are driving Innovation and product growth.
Answer:
Introduction
The digital growth of the ICT technology has brought revolution in the organization. The digitization of the business units helps in bringing automation in the working plan of the enterprise. The expansion of the organization to the site location can be effectively managed with the deployment of ICT technology in the business operational plan (Lindh, 2012). In this paper, we are going to adopt the cloud computing services to bring centralization and automation in the remote sites of the Pearl Private limited Company (Mansfield, community, 2013). It is a cotton textile organization which deals with the manufacturing and selling of the products such as clothes, bed sheet, and others. The enterprise is having its branches in Sydney, Brisbane, and New South wales of Australia. The project owner is facing problems in analysing the operational plan of the enterprise in different remote sites. He wants to transform its existing working structure with the new cloud computing environment.
Project aim
The aim of this paper is to design an adoption process of the Pearl organization to the cloud computing services for brining centralization and automation in the remote site location of the enterprise.
Project Objectives
The objectives of this paper are to:
Transformation of the existing architecture of the enterprise to the cloud computing working environment
Focuses on bringing centralised control on the business process
Maximise the earning profit of the enterprise
Long term sustainability
Automation in the working process of the enterprise

The interviewee presented their experience and feedback on the success of using cloud architecture in their program. The positive response of the interviewee helps in analysing the success of the cloud computing services.
Questionnaire
The Questionnaire was conducted with the top executives, expert groups, and students who are using the cloud platform for managing connectivity to the distance site location. The research questions were prepared for the questionnaire such as what are the benefits of using cloud computing system in the current practices of the enterprise, What is a difference they feel in cloud computing environment and traditional application, and others.
Literature Review and Case study
The Literature review was conducted to collect the theoretical information of the cloud computing environment. The analysis of the case study helps in defining the success and failure of the cloud infrastructure with the implementation of it in their working curriculum.
Survey
The survey was organized on the market competitors in the organization who have adopted cloud infrastructure in their working culture. It helps in examining the practical result of cloud based services in the growth of the enterprise.

Reflection
It was a good experience for developing a project plan for Pearl private Limited organization to resolve their complexities which the owner faces in its existing working structure. The deployment of research methodology helps me to analyse the problem domain of the enterprise in a synchronised manner. I was able to understand the problem faced by the project owner in their current working structure through the face to face interview. It helps me to take better and effective decision for changing the current working structure of the enterprise to the cloud based computing services. I have chosen cloud architecture for the enterprise because it has different remote branches located in Sydney, New South Wales, and Brisbane. The owner wants to provide a centralised system in the working architecture of the enterprise. BY applying the research methodology, I was able to analyse that cloud computing environment is the most suitable and under budget project for bringing automation and centralization in the current working architecture of the enterprise. I recommended the cloud computing environment because it has a high level of fault tolerance capabilities and security of the data can be effectively provided by applying cryptographic procedures and attribute based communication protocol. The participating units of the enterprise can easily communicate with each other for the interchanging of information, data, and resources. The resource pooling can be effective managed between the site location which helps in increasing the productivity and turnover of the enterprise. I have evaluated that the implementation of cloud computing platform helps in resolving complexities of the enterprise by providing automation and centralised control of information flow to the project owner. With the application of the project management program on Pearl enterprise, I have gained skills and expertise as a project manager which will help me in my near future.
