In Australia legislation has been put in place to ensure that all people can live and work safely in a socially diverse environment, free from discrimination. Everyone, regardless of race, religious belief, age, gender etc, is given the same opportunities and advantages. Legislation relates to balancing cultural needs and ensuring that no group of people (in particular minority groups or those who have been previously disadvantaged) is advantaged at the expense of others. 

Make a list of at least eight areas of legislation that apply in the context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety. 

The legislation is an important part of a society that can enable the peoples to live and work safely (Corrigan, 2018). Australia has put the legislations for ensuring the safety of the people. There ar

Aboriginal Orphans Act 1844, the Act protects the Aborigines by making the leg guardian of every aboriginal and of half-caste child whose parents are either unknown or died (Corrigan, 2018).

Aboriginal Protection Act 1869 was enacted by the colony of Victoria that gives the extensive powers on the lives of the Aboriginal People to governments that includes the regulation of the employment, marriage and the residence (Corrigan, 2018).

Aboriginal Affairs Act 1962, an act is enacted for the advancement and the welfare of the Aborigines and the person of the Aboriginal blood in the Southern Australia (Cameron & Lang, 2018).

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities (Justice, Land and Other Matters) Act 1984, this Act ain focus on to make restriction of the alcohol in the specific indigenous communities (Cameron & Lang, 2018). 

Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Act 2003 & Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, this Act focuses on the administration of the Aboriginal heritage and the Torres Strait islander as the proper care been provided where the heritage is located (Corrigan, 2018).

Aboriginal Land Act 1991 & Torres Strait Islander Land Act 1991 was enacted with the view to provide the mechanism for the land to the indigenous people of the Queensland (Cameron & Lang, 2018).

Aboriginal Relics Act 1975, this Act was introduced for the preservation of the aboriginal relics (Corrigan, 2018).

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission Act 1989, this act was introduced with the goal to look that what happens to the indigenous Australians (Cameron & Lang, 2018).

It can be analysed that the legislation plays an important role to provide equality and gives right to every aspect of the society regardless of their age, sex, caste, religion
