Introduction: 

A performance review is the regular review and examination of an employee’s overall contribution to the corresponding organization as identified through job performance. The aim of the present is to present a performance review of a selected agricultural job. The report presents the purposes and benefits of the review process for both the employer and employee. The completed performance review is thereby presented using a template. A conclusion is provided at the end that summarizes the key points from the report. Such an appraisal aims to evaluate the skills, growth and achievement of the employee that can direct future change in job role of the employee within the organization.

Performance review discussion 

Employee performance reviews help in recognizing the development an employee is making within the context of thee organization, in relation to the goals and mission of the setting. The purpose of such reviews is to gain feedback on the input given for work productivity, and discuss the areas of performance requiring further development. The benefits of performance review are multivariate for both the employer and the employee. First, it is helpful to clarify the status and role of the employee in the organization. Self-development is the most crucial benefit for the employee. The employee is further motivated to gain a merit-based compensation system (Anitha 2014). Performance evaluation helps the employer to take integral decision regarding rewards, transfers and promotion. Lastly, both employee and employer can keep records of evaluation undertaken for retrospectively review them and make changes in the goals set for future performance (Shields et al. 2015).

Conclusion:

Performance reviews helps in identifying the areas in which professional development of an employee is required. The present report pointed out the purpose of carrying out a performance review and the benefits for both the employee and the employee. A performance review has been undertaken against the job description of Agricultural engineer job in GrainCorp Limited, Australia.
