Discuss how to develope as a Writer.
Answer:
Writing has always been considered as a way to evaluate explore and comprehend one's own self along with the world. The ability to organise one's own thoughts perceptions is regarded as powerful. Penning down an individual’s own thoughts forces him or her to organise themselves and further convey them in an approach that is comprehensive to the others. Writing can be considered as a reflection of us. The most significant aspect of writing is that it facilities one to understand about his or her own self. However writing further forces us to concentrate on a specific subject and further develop commitment to words our personal thoughts and perceptions. It is important to note that one of the approaches to delve into ourselves is through the process of writing. Writing or penning down our own thoughts for the permits us to escape the web of others notions and ideologies as writing is referred as an external process rather than an internal one where there is no existence of paradox. However, whereas other approaches of self exploration can only look at a single dimension of our identity be it through our feelings or emotions on our way of learning the process of writing provides us the coalition to amalgamate those aspects and further create a multidimensional whole that more accurately reflects our identities. Hereby in this paper, I would like to cast light on the goals and objectives that I have learnt in the duration of my course and what implications these learning objectives have on my process of gaining insights. On the process of undergoing certain goals and objectives of research writing I would like to focus on one of the assessments which have given greater impact on my learning ability, which I have excelled in and have successfully extracted the utmost knowledge.
The second course, which comprises of assessments namely annotated ibliography, academic essays and peer writing workshops as well as journal responses two sources and news articles and journals have resulted to provide a well -encompassing knowledge. One of the assessments which is the annotated bibliography has demonstrated certain opportunities that it reflects for the writer to keep a record on what he or she reads about on a specific area of subject all the way it relates to one's domain of investigation. However assessing about annotated bibliographies have helped me to evaluate the investigation that has already been conducted on a particular subject. Similarly, peer-writing workshops can be referred as an approach that acknowledges writers like me to get engaged in the procedure of writing by utilising my personal areas of interest and writing for my own reasons. It further leads to the empowerment of writer who is being taught to acknowledge or compliment another writer with certain praise and are further supported in order to celebrate each other’s achievements. However, Peer writing workshops have positive impact on the growth of students writing competencies which incorporated enhancements that are retained after the competition of peer review practices. Similarly learning about journal responses to sources and media has helped me as a writer to get acknowledged and inspired how to compose my own journal. By learning about several journal articles I have learnt that journal articles inspire a student or a an aspiring writer to engage into the world of writing by reflecting certain questions in their mind such as asking about something interesting that has happened in the world or reconnecting any events from the past.
At this juncture it is important to mention about the third course which included assessments like critical thinking internal responses to coarse readings which I still need to put my efforts in order to gain the utmost knowledge related to this subject. I realise that writing a critique or expressing once critical thoughts requires implementing certain expertise or strategies, which are likely to produce an effective consequence. However it is a type of thought process, which I realise that I was unable to engage in and going through a dilemma of what and whom to believe and further draw a critical reasoning to it. One of the areas where I was unable put relevant reasoning is that I developed the habit of reading without an aim in my mind however I should develop myself as an active reader while studying the way readers established their arguments while composing his or her critical thoughts on their writing.
Relationship between writer and investigation or research has been observed extensively however the less is understood about the development characteristics of their interconnections. Several recent investigations have analysed segregated entities of research and writing based on the levels of linguistic approach that distinguishes the levels of the word sentence and passage. Furthermore, research can be regarded as the elixir that strengthened my perspectives and casted light on the chapters of my life by liberating me when I had something to write about myself into a suffocating ambiance. However, it is important to note that like every other potential writers or established researches I have also experienced certain obstacles while implementing secondary sources during my research session. Similar to other writers I have also faced and ethical dilemma while using data required for my research from several internet sites such as online journals and few social networking sites. However in order to overcome such challenges in my research session I primarily focused on reviewing several annotated and peer reviewed articles rather than relying solely on non-academic or social networking sites. However one of the significant factor which I have learnt in this course that has helped me to develop as a writer and as a researcher is share my knowledge with others rather than only constraining it to myself. To become a successful writer I must develop adequate competencies to connect as well as relate to people. I realise that lack of sharing knowledge would not only refrain me from gathering enough knowledge but would also keep me away from expressing my thoughts and actions on a certain subject. As a result in order to evolve myself as an efficient researcher and writer I must learn to acknowledge criticisms that comes to the way of my writing and further share my own path of knowledge with others.
