Carry out an audit of own personal leadership and management skills
An effective leader is one who owns certain characteristics such as competence. Carrying out an audit plays a significant role in determining one’s current skills and potential and identifying areas of weakness to make improvements. My self-assessment plan is based on a current job role which I undertake as a contact center manager in Drogheda Ireland and also manage the USA Hillsboro contact center where my responsibilities involve dealing with the clients. This includes influencing them into liking and having interest in our products, developing a relationship with them and ensuring that their needs are met[1]. I am also responsible for training the staff on the necessary skills for dealing with the clients. My interpersonal skills include the ability to deal with various kinds of people, working individually and also in groups with dedication. One of my strengths is being patient such that I can accommodate all types of personalities which contributes to my success. Being friendly and approachable enhances my relationship with the staff members and the clients. However, I still need expansion in areas such as the sensitivity. The regular meetings I hold with the employees and clients is a good opportunity to develop my communication skills and expand my knowledge and ideas. However, having to deal with the USA contact center adds more weight to my responsibilities which affects both my social life and family. This is because I end up being left with so little time at my disposal for my personal development which also increases my stress level having to balance the responsibilities[2].
Set objectives to meet personal development and organizational needs
- To provide education to all the staff concerning the set goals of the organization by preparing a variety of the learning materials which can easily be accessed by them. This will ensure that they do not struggle to understand what they are expected to do and how.
- To encourage employee ownership by allowing exchanging of ideas such that they feel motivated to work towards achieving the goals.
- Provide the relevant information and tools to promote the full utilization of the company resources for maximum output.
- Coordinate the cross-border supervisory matters so as to attain the regional and international incorporation.
- Develop the economic growth by partnering with other regional and international organizations to enhance the process of decision-making.
- Focusing on delivery by ensuring that the employees remain focused throughout the year to achieve the goals. This is through having the learning materials and the processes ready and in place to guide the employees.
- Monitor and assess the quality of performance to ensure that quality is kept at its best. This is through identifying the points of weaknesses and offering the necessary training and coaching to aid the appropriate enhancement.

When the employees are involved in setting the objectives, they feel honored and valued hence get the zeal to work towards achieving such goals as they are part and parcel. Holding the daily meetings will provide a chance to obtain the necessary information regarding any weaknesses that need to be addressed[3]. Going through the emails also provides the opportunity to assess quality. Having a wider career predictions within the company and a recognition from the vice president of the company is a great motivation to enhance my development plan. The new challenges also provide an opportunity for development as they pose.

A personal development plan is an important aspect to improve my skills and expertise so as to promote the effectiveness of performance and the employability. The following is my proposed personal development cycle:
The first step will be to establish a direction which will be the guiding factor to know the purpose of the organization. Without proper establishment of goals, not activity can succeed. Goals establishment ensures that one is working tirelessly towards goal achievement as per the strategic plan. This will help me understand what I really want to achieve and how to achieve it by having short-term and long-term goals. Knowing the goals of the organization will help to guide the employees as they work. Identification of the need for development will enable me to have an aim and focus towards the goals. No goal is achievable without identifying the exact need to achieve before the end of the process. Looking at development opportunities will help me base my focus on the relevant fields and areas to draw my attention[4]. Articulating the action plan is important so as to strengthen the focus and avoid any possible distractions. Undertaking development is the key action in effecting the skills and the competence while recording the results will help me to keep track of the performance progress. Reviewing and evaluating is important so as to keep note of the achieved goals and the yet-to-be achieved goals and identify the areas that need enhancement. My actions plans in relation to this track includes time keeping, proper record keeping, and prompt actions on the set down activities of each time.
Justify how opportunities selected for the personal development plan support achievement of organizational objectives
The new challenges will help me to diverse the leadership skills in the economic development and trade promotion. This will also open up investment opportunities and gather technical skills for development projects[5]. The wide career prospects will help in opening up foreign markets by promoting compliance with the prevailing trade agreements. The comments by the vice president of the company that my performance is satisfactory is a good motivation to work even smarter and the comment that he would like to see me go up the ladder of management is also motivating. The challenges I face in my personal life Bolden me to be firm on how to face them. Further, challenges have always forced me become creative and innovative of new ideas that can help be address them. I have always made SMART goals supported with SMART ideas on how to resolve my tricky areas and this helps me greats in achieving organizational goals. My career prospect has been built on these challenges and now I feel able to face any challenge in the industry with courage, determination, and the right focus.
