Project Management System Analyst
I. Technical Role as a System analyst in the Project Schedule
The role of the system analyst is to behave as a liaison between the IT side of the project and the business side of the project. The major aim of the system analyst would be to collaborate the IT staff and end users in manner to evaluate the existing computer systems and utilize the information for designing the new ones (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). I will try to implement the technical requirements considering the business goals of the University. System analyst’s responsibility will be to develop the documentation related to the existing system in manner to identify the capabilities of the current system and develop the new system accordingly (Heizer 2016). Other responsibility of the system analyst will be to analyze and collect the requirements necessary for the further proceedings in the project. The business analyst will have to finalize the technical, business, and functional requirements for the project (Schwalbe 2015). Third responsibility will be ensure that the chosen software package is enough for the execution of the operational activities within the University and could fulfill the needs and requirements of the students. Other responsibility focuses on monitoring systems ensuring that the growth and development of the project is moving in the right direction and the triple constraints are not being altered (Harrison and Lock 2017).
Before creating the forma and final budget plan, it is necessary to determine the existing capabilities of the system, questionnaire related to the determination of the business goals, University objectives, and presenting the new developed system as the proposed solution for fulfilling the current need and requirements of the students. It is important factor that the project charter, project management plan, and project scope have been defined before executing these activities in manner to make sure that the proposed solution will be effective and efficient for the stakeholders.
II. The Triple Constraint Matrix:
I would like to implement the major responsibilities of the system analyst that has been neglected in the schedule of the project. This will include the analysis of existing system, determining its capabilities, questioning the students about their needs and requirements of the students thus, it can include the questionnaire survey for every stakeholder, face to face conversation, meeting, and others (laudon and Laudon 2016). The whole activity will be delivered within the seven days and the expense of $ 10000 and within seven days. This will result in the enhancement of the schedule of the budget as additional activities are being introduced however; the attempt will be to deliver the project within seven days considering the overall scope of the project.
The activities mentioned above will be altering the triple constraint of the project as described in the Gantt chart and additional budget will be needed to execute these additional activities. The total budget for the new deliverables would be $ 10000 and the timeline would be seven days.
