MN503 The Routers and the Switches Design

• There is a need of a separate subnet which would be used by the guest users in order to access the network.
• Along with a separate subnet there is a need of separate LAN connection as well.
• There is a need of creating a guest network that would be restricted and only a limited access would be provided to the guest users to avail the services provided by the FTP
• The unauthorized users are to be blocked to get access to the LAN network which would be present in the entire organization.
• A IP network design is to be created
• Identification of the hardware is to be done that is the routers and the switches.
• The routers and switches are to be configured according to the need.

 Network design – Consider Human factor (User-Centric Design) concepts

 The primary school is in need of a network that would be helping them in sharing of the files to be users as well as to the guest users by following certain criteria’s. The network that is to be crated would be consisting of the following design. Some routers and switches would be included in the network along with two kind of servers that is the DHCP and the FTP server. All this switches would be connected two servers that are to be included in the network along with being connected to the routers as well as the other user devices and the access point which is to be included. Along with this switches are also to be used which would be connected to the servers, routers and the user devices.

The routers would be connected to the service providers and switches would be responsible for distributing the network access amongst the users. The first step would be including the configuration of the switches are done accordingly followed by the configuring of the switches in order to provide a limited access to the guest users. The main operation of the router would be including the directing of the traffic functions which are present in the network. Besides the routers are also associated with transporting the data packets through the entire network until the destination node is reached. The DHCP or the Dynamic Host Configuration protocol is generally associated with providing of various options by which the user computers would become capable of getting connected to the network.

For doing so the routers and switches are used and this entire process would be operating in an autonomous way. The configuration of the access points would be done for the purpose of providing access to the users who are authorized. Last thing which is to be included in the network re the various security features. For doing so an access control list is to be included in the security feature which would be associated with blocking the unknown IP address and the blocking would be very much helpful in the process of protecting the sensitive data present that is present in the network. The security of the router would be provided by asking use of the Double layer password is the best way of securing the routers from any type of security risk.
