By taking into consideration the success of a person, the above statement is aptly valid and true. Although one can vouch on the fact that the success of a person is solely the result of ones efforts, dedication, perseverance etc. But it is also an undeniable fact that along with an individual’s hard work, there is a major helping hand of team mates and a good leader.

The people with whom you are around and surround yourself has a great impact on you. You are wired with your team mates and align together to achieve a common goal for your team. You as an individual, rarely, if ever can succeed without the input and support from your colleagues. Also, having a good leader doesn’t assures the success of an individual, it is the combined efforts of every element, the leader, the team and the individual that results in success (Hu & Liden, 2015).

The ‘Iceberg theory of success’ states that visible part of the iceberg is the only part on which people concentrates whereas no one realizes the fact that behind that success of a person lies the efforts and hard work of team mates and the leader under whose guidance the person was able to climb the stairs of success. This part is the invisible part of the iceberg which lies beneath the surface and is often hidden. The invisible part is the combined support of all the elements which is unknown to us (Monk, 2016).
