Introduction

Wireless communication technology transfers information or data without any wires or physical devices.  Wireless video doorbell intercom system is a type of intercom system along with video calling. It is the advanced version of the wired video doorbell system. It allows people to talk to the delivery executives without opening the door.

This report discusses about the video doorbell intercom system that is wireless and can be used for multi monitoring purpose. It points out the advantages and limitations of this system. It also suggests the possible solutions for overcoming such problems. This is a modern technology that has wide scope in the present as well as the future.

People have faced several issues before the invention of intercom system and also before the invention of video intercom system. People had faced security issues. They could not see who had come to their door. There have been several criminal offenses because there was no way to check who is at the door. The implementation of this video intercom system is required at every home for the safety and security of the people.

Solution

The solution to this security issue can be solved by installing a wireless video intercom system at the door of every office and home. This system is cost effective and easy to handle. This helps people to directly operate and ensure security without any other help from others. Implementing this wireless video doorbell system solves the security problem of every house.

Important Characteristics or Features of Wireless Video Doorbell System

These types of systems have multiple characteristics.

• Their appearance is extremely attractive and it can act as a decoration material at houses.
• It consists of antennas that are in built for the protection purpose (Carter, 2012).
• The angle view of the device is extra large that can capture a wide vision.
• The screen of the device has high and powerful resolution.
• The camera which is fixed in the system has a special feature of visioning everything clearly at night.
• It has the capability of capturing the image of any person who comes close to the door (Braithwaite & Cardenas, 2012).
• Extra or additional tools are not required for the purpose of its installation.
• The battery of this system can be charged and the power of its battery is extremely high.

The display screen shows the image and video of the people who are outside the door. The up key is used for adjusting while making any choice. The down key also plays the role of the preview key. The monitor key is used in case of a standby mode. The photo taking key is a multipurpose key. It can be used for clicking picture and setting times, plus ring tone and deleting. The volume key is used for adjusting the volume of the device. Whenever someone arrives at the door this device starts ringing and the display screens show the person or visitor.

Whenever a visitor arrives, he or she rings the bell and uses the MIC for passing the voice message. The camera records the video of the person and clicks picture also when it is very near the device. The infrared lamp helps in detecting the person in case of low light. The speaker allows the outsider to hear of the person who is inside.

Pros of Wireless Video Doorbell System 

There are numerous benefits of this system. Some of them are as follows:

Cost effective and affordable: This requires no wiring as it is a wireless system (Scalisi, Harrison & Thomas, 2015). Therefore the cost wiring is excluded resulting in an affordable cost that can be bought by the people.

Wiring is not needed: The process of wiring is not required, which removes the problems of wiring as it is a difficult method.

Fixable and portable: This system can be fixed and its setting can be done at any place as per the convenience of the person.

Easy detection system: This device helps to make the life of the people much easier as it detects very easily when someone comes near the door.

Safety: This system consists of a camera that helps to see who is outside the door. At present the crime rate is increasing at a fast pace. People need to secure themselves from the outside world (Wang, 2012). This system contains camera that enables the people to see who is outside. This helps in providing security to the people.

Variable mode: People can set a different mode as per their convenience. They can make it silent when   they do not need it.

Chargeable battery: People are able to charge their devices whenever needed.

Track record: The system captures the video of every visitor at the door. People are able to keep track of who all have visited the and at what time along with the appropriate date.

Simple installation procedure: Since there are no wiring required, the installation of this system is much easier.

Cons of Wireless Video Doorbell System 

This system also has certain number of disadvantages. Sometimes the users have faced difficulty in starting the system. There have been complaints regarding charging the system. People have tried charging but the system still did not get charged (Qin, Lidin & Zhigang, 2012). The doorbell does not function properly at certain times because of incorrect wireless connection or loss of connection. This connectivity issue has led to communication problem between the person outside and the indoor person. The images are not clear and noisy at times because may be the handset is kept near some equipments. There are signal issues where the indoor system shows that there is no signal.

Solutions for overcoming the drawbacks

Every problem has a solution. There are certain solutions to the drawbacks of this system too. Lithium battery must be installed that will help to start the system in an easier way and also in charging the system in an easy way (Chen & Lin, 2012). This will overcome the problem of starting and charging the system. The code of the system must be checked properly in order to overcome most of the issues. The handset of this system must be kept away from any type of magnetic field.   

Conclusion

This report concludes that the wireless video intercom system is an advanced technology that is extremely beneficial for the people. It has certain disadvantages that can be overcome by following the above mentioned procedures.
