Course Reflection
The course ISOL 631 Summer discussion 2017 that I have pursued is an important lesion for me in my academics. I have l
earned about the IT policies and its compliance. I did not know the importance of the IT policies, before I took up this course. I learned about the security baselines and the application of the baselines. I understood the automated controls and manual controls and how they differ from each other. The compliance technology solutions and the Group policy of Microsoft have also been learned. I became aware of the best practices of the IT policies.
Along with gaining knowledge about the IT policies, the IT security policy implementations are also learned by me. I have learned about the simplified implementations of the IT security and policy implementation strategies. I did not have knowledge about these, before I took up this course. The information that I gained about the IT policies, could be used in real life and I can comply with the IT policies better. I also learn IT security policy enforcement and its advantages (Sommestad et al., 2014).
The executive management policies that needs to be enforced in order to implement the IT security policies, have been delivered by the course. The roles of the people as well as the committees in the enforcement of the IT security are also highlighted in this course (Sommestad et al., 2014). Prior to this course, I did not have clarity regarding the importance of the IT policies and its implementations.
In the future semesters, I would like to study these subjects in much more details, such that I gain clarity and develop in-depth knowledge and understanding.
