INFO6030 Systems Analysis on Newaccess
NewAccess is a mental health intervention which initially targeted youth aged 17 to 25, and is in the process of being expanded to young people as young as 12, and also to Indigenous youth. Headspace is one of several organisations trialling this new system. NewAccess particularly targets depression and anxiety. One of the problems identified was that a young person with a mental illness might see multiple professionals before getting the help they need. Each time they need to re-tell their ‘story’. Soon the young people clam up and say very little, making it harder for professionals to help them. Initially they might see a Headspace case worker, then medical staff in a hospital emergency department, perhaps a General Practitioner, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, and others.
Imagine that you are the analyst tasked with building a system that will capture the ‘story’ the first time it is told. This will give access to successive professionals, so that case notes and the story can become enriched, and the young person can be assisted more appropriately. An evaluation of the initial NewAccess trial is available under the 'Resources' tab of the subject Interact2 site.

Answer
Problems:
Nowadays, the universal health issue faced by youth is with mental health disorders. People with the mental disorder are likely to stay unhappy, absent-minded or irritated irrespective of the place or situation. Due to this reasons their careers, family and studies are hampered as they pay less attention and sometimes parents may face aggressive behavior from their child (Walker & Greene, 2013). The emotional happiness of a child is just as important as their physical health. According to the surveys made it has been found that there arise some health problems related to mental health among the youth aged between 17 to 25 (Cuijpers et al., 2014). To overcome these problems related to psychological health NewAccess has been invented targeting this age group. The primary target of NewAcces is to encounter the youth who are facing issues related to depression and anxiety. There are several reasons which lead a teenager to feel depressed, the typical symptoms are :
- Feeling irritated
- Feeling guilty or worthless
- Lack of motivation
- Getting addicted to drugs or alcohols
- Reduced interaction with family members.
Another symptom addressed by NewAccess is Anxiety. It is being observed that sometimes while doing a particular type of work people feels nervousness or seems to be feared about the situation. This can lead to a mental disorder known as anxiety. Anxiety is one of the common mental health issues faced by the youth with the age group of 17 to 25 (Slade et al., 2014). This both problems are the most common issues, this can sometimes lead the youth o attempt crimes, such as suicide or some criminal offence. For this reason, it becomes very much necessary to cure the problem before the one suffering hurts himself or anyone around them (Leichsenring et al., 2013).
Capabilities:
With implementing this project and invention, several health organization can attain 100 per cent cure rate. Headspace organization has incorporated this invention in order to cure the people dealing with mental health issues. The organization will be able to help them out only when they know about the problem completely (Raffaelli, 2013). For this, they need to tell their story, and each consultant needs to know the whole story of the patient so that they can get from where these problems are arising. The NewAccess invention will require a session for counseling so that they can know about the problems in detail. NewAccess has incorporated a system within the program, which will record the whole story so that the patients do not need to repeat it every time whenever they meet a new consultant for handling their case (Quiroga et al., 2013). This will help the patient as well as the doctors as they will be able to recall all the information are gathered from the victim. Moreover, headspace organization will always have psychiatrist consulted for every patient they deal with. This invention will help to cure all the problems faced by the youth. Sometimes it is suggested for the patients to join rehabs, as this will help them to maintain their anxiety (Kowalski, 2014). The NewAccess invention also provides all time of meditation and rehab facility for the youth dealing with such anxiety and depression problems. Thus, this new invention is completely capable of curing the mental health disorders of the youth.
Benefits:
This invention will benefit both the youth and the organization who are implementing this invention. As with the invention of NewAccess, health centers are focusing on the mental disorders among the youth, Earlier, people used to believe that mental illness can only be defined as one thing that is psychosis, but later researches proved that youth not only faces problems with mental illness but also some people suffers from depression and anxiety (Lader, 2015) . This is also a part of mental illness, and these issues are also needed to be cured on an urgent basis. As a result of people suffering through depression may try to attempt some criminal offence such as suicide, murder or another criminal offence in response to their need. With this invention, youth will get proper treatment (Foster & Neufeld, 2013). In addition, the software for recording the story will help the doctors and each branch of health care dealing with the problem. This will benefit the patient to achieve a better and complete health service. The problem will be solved with 100 per cent success. This will also add up to the organization's reputation. With this technology, diagnosis and treatment will become easier and convenient. Moreover, the youth will be free of mental health disorders.
