The law of taking away the children from the parents who come to US to seek refuge is considered to be offensive and indecent by a federal judge from California. A lawsuit might be applied in this case which challenges the law made by the Trump administration. A Brazilian woman who had been separated from her son and have reunited with him after more than nine months, are one of the plaintiffs of the lawsuit. The lawsuit had been filed in the month of February by the American Civil Liberties Union. They want to prove that the separation of the children from their parents be considered illegal, and even though the justice department have tried their best to dismiss the lawsuit, the federal judge, Sabraw declared that the plaintiffs could continue with their lawsuit. In my opinion this lawsuit could be a step forward into helping the immigrants who come to the US to seek refuge. The law that separates the parents from their children are nothing less than brutal. No matter how grave the offence is, children should never be separated from their parents in a country about which they know nothing about. Especially for young children this could be a cause for trauma and could permanently damage their mental state. As had been found in the case of one of the plaintiffs, Joyce, her son had been medicated by the federal officials without her knowledge or permission because of the emotional trauma that he had been facing due to the separation. Her son was 14 years old at that time and was sent to a shelter that was run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Even after being released and turned over to immigration, Joyce was not able to reunite with her son since the government took around two months to give back her son to her custody. This is why it is necessary that the lawsuit be taken forward and a proper decision be taken so that the children do not have to suffer anymore.

According to the essay, it is correctly stated that hiring the right counselors could help the students in releasing their pain and depression. However, this might not always be the case as children might not always share their problems with the counselor. Furthermore the school could keep an eye on the corridor activities of the students where most of the bullying and harassment takes place which becomes one of the reasons for anger among the weak and mentally disturbed students. A thorough security could also be maintained in schools which would enable a bag check of the students when they enter the school premises. This might seem like an invasion of the student’s privacy, but could save a lot of students from performing as well as being victims to criminal activities. However, a regular counseling session could be started where students could at least try to explain themselves or share their issues if they can, so that the school could try to solve the issues and stop them from harming themselves or the other students.
