From the chart above, it’s evident that:
The population of Saskatchewan province has an irregular trend. This is due the oscillation of the population growth with time for instance, between 1971 and 1976 census, there was negative growth whereas, between 1976 and 1981 a positive growth was registered. Also between 1986 and 1991 negative growth is recorded. This shows an unpredictable growth pattern. Saskatchewan province has least average population growth are among three provinces. Unlike Alberta and British Columbia provinces which have recorded an upward trend in population growth, Saskatchewan province has registered an irregular trend between 1971 and 2036 census.
The population of Alberta province, has an upward trend between 1971 and 2036 census. This is revealed by the positive growth rate across all the census years. It has registered the second largest population after British Columbia provinces among the three.
The population of British Columbia province, has an upward trend in population between 1971 and 2036 census. This is revealed by the positive growth rate across all the census years. It has registered the highest populations among the three provinces.

The following is a population pyramind of Kwantlen region.
Discussion
From the pyramid, it’s clear that the percentage of a median aged population (20-69 years) in Kwantlen region is higher than that of young and aged population. The percentages of the age groups by gender between age 20 and 69 years have higher percentages ranging between 5.4% and 7.0% than those between age 0 and19, and 70-80 and older, whose percentage range between 2% and 6 %. The percentage of the aged population is less than young population. This suggests that there’s a low dependency ratio due to a higher population of median age population, who are working population than a dormant population who are the aged persons, above 70 years and the young person below 20years.
The following is a population pyramind of Vancouver region.
From the pyramid, it’s evident that the percentage of a median age population(20-69 years)in Vancouver region is higher than that of young (below 20 years)and aged population(above70 years). The percentage of the age groups by by gender between age 20 and 69 years have higher percentages ranging between 5.6% and 9.2%, than those between age 0 and19 , and 70-80and older, whose percentage range between 2% and 3.7% . The percentage of the aged population is less than young population. This suggests that there’s a low dependency ratio, due to a higher population of median age population, who are working population than dormant population who are the aged person, above 70 years and the young person below 20 years.
Comparison and distinction between the two regions
From the two pyramids, it’s clear that the population of males from the two regions is higher than that of females at young ages but it tends to be less that of females as age increases. This indicates that that there’s a high life expectancy in females than in males.
The two regions have a higher percentage of a working population (median aged) than dormant population (aged and young). This indicates a low dependency ratio in the two regions.
Also, the percentage of the aging population (above 70 years) the two regions is approximately the same for the two genders (about 11% of the total population).
Though the population two regions have similar characteristics, they have some differences. Kwantlen region has higher young population percentage (below 20 years) (about 22%) than Vancouver region (about 15% of the total population). This indicates that there’s a higher birth rate in Kwantlen and Vancouver region
On the hands, Vancouver region has higher percentage a median aged population (20 to 69 years) (about70% the total population) than Kwantlen region (about 65% of the total population). This shows that the Vancouver region has a higher working population than Kwantlen
