What is gender inequality?
In simple language, gender inequality is defined as any discrimination against any gender whether women or men, basically gender inequality is a discrimination against the women based on their sex (Gidden et al., 2016).
The main reason which led gender inequality in India?
The main cause and the reason for gender inequality in India is the patriarchy system. According to this patriarchy system men dominates and oppress some time exploits women.
Some other reasons are education, culture, and traditional norms and extreme poverty which leads women’s low status in the society.
• Poverty- according to the statistic in India of the total 30 percent people who are below poverty line, 70 percent are women. And this due to the absence of economic opportunities and autonomy and minimal participation in decision making (Jayachandran et al., 2015). The economic condition of women is not better and men enjoy a larger share of the cake. Thus poverty is the root cause of inequality.
• Lack of Employment Facilities- women in India spend most of their time on unpaid home sustaining work. Rights and obligations within a household are not distributed evenly. Which create inequality.
• Social customs, Beliefs, and practices- women are not free from social customs, beliefs, and practices.
• Lack of Awareness of Women- most of the women are unaware of their basic rights and capabilities. Which leads them to be oppressed (White et al., 2016).
What are the laws about gender inequality?
There are a variety of federal and state laws that are made to protect the individual against any discrimination. The broadest federal mandates regarding inequality or discrimination are Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which states that it is wrong to refuse to hire and help anybody due to his gender. Article 15 also state that no state should discriminate any citizen on the ground of sex.
Where is this gender inequality practice mainly?
Gender inequality is mainly practiced in the workplace but not only in the workplace, it is practiced in general also in the society as well. The main place where gender inequality is practiced is work place, organization.

This gender inequality is affecting the growth of the organization in the long run as it increases the employee turnover and the motivational level of the employee and worker are also decreased. It consequences is that the corporate image will be become down.
