The eco-blogs highlighted on the World Watch website are separated into four categories, climate and energy, environment and society, food and agriculture, and the state of the world. With any blog, the diversity of the sources, as well as the knowledge of which biases a site prescribe to, are important factors when determining the viability the blogger. In the case of World Watch, the site offers an international scope on issues, often highlighting other countries besides dominant western powers. For example, in the case of climate and energy, the site offers an article on the Dominican Republic, and its evident hypocrisy concerning coal. (http://blogs.worldwatch.org/dominican-republic-energy-coal/) However, as with most environmental blogs much of the news is heavily biased. While having a bias is not a crime on the stage of world environmental protection, its can often be seen as a hindrance. To the credit of this blog, the author never makes an assumption of being removed from the issue, and does use various statistics to support their arguments.

This blog is run by a man named Peter Sogaard Jorgensen, a research assistant for the Center for Macro ecology, Evolution and Climate at the University of Copenhagen. His blog focuses heavily on the statistics of environmental degradation, and the underlying causes of the various spikes. For example, in one article he looks into the effect that a countries GDP has on its carbon dioxide emissions. Many of the articles also focus mainly on the actual science behind the various causes and effects of emission changes, whether through technology or population growth, instead of angry rhetoric directed and governments. However, as with any writer, the articles are not without their own biases or conjecture, but I was pleased to discover in the case of this writer, it is kept to a minimum.
Answer:
The man and nature seems to be continuous war. When on one hand, the nature is depleting gradually, the danger that is approaching seems to be falling in the deaf ears o
f the human beings. The blogs suggest that a number of nature summits and seminars are being held to discuss the ways that will help in reducing pollution but they have not been able to find any solutions. When the year, 2009 has seen a huge amount of dip in the carbon emissions, on the other hand, the year, 2010 has compensated by keep the emissions at high (Jorgensen). Use of fossils fuels do not seem to reduce. The imports of fossil fuels are around 85% (Konold).
I feel that the summits and the policies might be helping the society to reduce pollutions and support sustainability but until the nature dualism will exists, it will be difficult to maintain sustainability in the environment. According tom me, the individuals should take the help of green consumerism and support sustainability. People have started thinking that once gold has been ethically mined, they should start buying gold to support the workers. People forget the poverty that is existent in the society when they go for holidaying in the tropical lands. I think it is up to the individual to decide and understand future for the next generations. The government should show the people the future that they are holding for the next generations. Once the people will understand the upcoming danger and will understand the importance of green consumerism, it will be helpful for the society.
