Calculate Pay Program

For this week’s assignment, we were to create a program in Java to calculate pay. After reading chapter one in our class text, I had a hard time relating the information I had studied to the assignment. After doing further research and watching some learning videos, I was able to understand what codes I needed to create this program. I really enjoyed this assignment, even with the struggles. With the program that we have created, what are the object-oriented features of our Java program? The four basic principles of object-oriented programming are encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism. After reading and understanding the definitions of the four different principles, I had a hard time deciding which one related to my program. I wouldn’t think it would be encapsulation, because we aren’t hiding data. I feel like it had features of abstraction due to the development of a software object we can find in the real world. We, also, aren’t hiding the details like encapsulation does. Overall, this assignment was interesting to work on and made me do some research. The only other problem I was was trying to upload the zip of my program. The screenshots of my program are below.
