Nightclub Mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, USA

The Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, witnessed the deadliest mass shooting, which killed 50 people and critically injured dozen more. The club was about to close when gunman, Omar Mateen appeared and mercilessly started shooting the crowd with bullets. Witnesses reported that he relentlessly fired 20 rounds then 50 rounds and took hostages. The law enforcement officials reveal that Mateen was associated with the Islamic State; however, he died in a gun battle with the members of the SWAT team. Chapter 113 B of the United States Code and the USA PATRIOT Act is legislations that are applicable to the case of the Article.

The business issues that have been addressed in the article is the financial loss suffered by the nightclub and other businesses in the neighborhood. Business owners have lost clients as they could neither contact nor provide services to the clients. The probable outcome of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub was that some of the businesses were prohibited from accessing to their respective properties. The nightclub was destructed and it was obvious that huge loss amounted to the business of the club. Besides, the neighborhood and the other businesses in the neighborhood had to face difficulties financially.

As a business owner, I would adopt effective and strict security measures. After the devastating incident at the nightclub, it is highly imperative to engage personnel and install highly modified security systems in my place of business in order to safeguard my employees as well as the customers from any such unfortunate incidents.

After the heinous incident, I believe that the country must further strengthen the identity checks and Border control and strict security precautions must be adopted by the country. It appears to me that the terrorists tend to make soft targets such as restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, places of worship, banks, etc as these places usually do not have proper security systems. Governments and the business owners must consensually find effective ways to address any security related issues in the future. Being a business owner, I believe that the expenses incurred to attain proper security safeguarding the physical operations of a business is a good investment. Therefore, the government and businesses must adopt effective practical attitude and establish counter-measures to avert any future incidents.
