As a leader, I would employ different elements in order to ensure I build such kind of trust with a team. One, I would ensure reliability in the team. This would ensure that everyone on the team counts on one another to accomplish what is required. By creating a sense that every individual in a team depends on one another will help strengthen trust (Kutsyuruba, Walker & Noonan, 2010). Secondly, I would promote honesty in the team. Honesty is all about integrity, character, and authenticity. Through promoting honesty, people in the team will be able to rely on promises spoken by other individuals in the team hence ensuring trust among the members grow.
Thirdly, so as to prevent a dysfunctional team, I would ensure commitment among the team members. This would be through providing clarity regarding the direction of the team. I would also create an atmosphere that allows opinions from each team member to be heard. Members would then be accountable to each other (Lencioni, 2013). Lastly, I would ensure openness in the team. Openness commands a certain degree of trust. Besides, it builds up confidence that members in a team will not be exploited since information is not withheld.
