They would clandestinely decorate their homes with flowers such as poppy, amaranths, Narcissi, Laurel, among others especially in the ceilings. Later, Zentine Era would set in (320-600 AD) where more elaborate designs were exhibited. The composition was symmetrical, tree-like with conical designs and clustering bosoms.
(ii) How they influenced Florist Today
The designs offered a platform onto which current trends could be established. Notably, there has been a kind of revolution in the industry, thanks to the floral past. Perfection has often been desired by many especially in wedding arena. The modern florist, with a taste of different styles at her/his disposal, could use her creativity to match with the occasion to bring an excellent finish. Admittedly, florists are turning back to further education by using the past floral theories to craft new styles and trends. In summary, therefore, the past designs lifted the floral standards, both in content and appearance, to a level that the current trends must build on.
