Introduction

According to the researchers, it can be said that the management of the health care organizations has become a difficult task nowadays and the reason behind this is the occurrence of various issues in this sector (Hall et al., 2014). Therefore, the administrative employees of the organization should incorporate various revolutionized strategies for enriching the worth of care provided by the hospital to its clients and renovate the service into a procedure of goal driven. Moreover, all these strategies will help the hospital to fulfill the demands of the clients successfully. The primary aim of patch 1 of this report is to focus on the objectives of General Hospital of Saudi Arabia which is to maintain a good standard of health care service by acting according to the quality protocol, and also to analyze its strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats as well as its internal and external environment. These analyses assist in detecting the challenges faced by the organization in gratifying the objective (AlYami & Watson, 2014)., This paper consists of two patches. The first patch, put emphasis on the problems that are generally faced by the hospital in meeting the claims of the specified sector. The second patch, puts spotlight on critical evaluation of the personal contribution and the leadership abilities that the author have gainedfrom this module and how these will assist the organization to achieve its objective.   

Detail of Selected organization and its objective

The General Hospital of Saudi Arabia was founded in the year 1986. It is a multi-disciplinary health care organization and it possesses a capacity of around 50 beds. In addition to this, the organization has the latest medical equipment’s and all this medical equipment are upgraded and modified as per the present standards of health care practices. The hospital provides various services to all its clients as per their demands in order to treat them efficiently and also to protect their health from any hazards and physical challenges (Howard, 2014).   

The main objective of the Hospital is to maintain good standard of health care service by acting according to the quality protocol. Their vision is to be renowned as a quality healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia. To achieve this reputation in health care industry, their mission statement is to provide international standard of health care service in a cost effective manner and to ensure that the health expectation of Saudi Arabian community is met (Jehanzebet al., 2013).

Critical analysis of the rationale for pursuing the objective

Pursuing the above mentioned objective is important for the hospital because Saudi Arabian community is suffering from many health issues such as obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and many others (Khalifa, 2014). The survey from Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in 2017 shows that three quarter of Saudi Arabian citizen never have routine medical checkup. There are plans to create census in clinical area to assess the health needs of the community and provide better health service. There is also estimation of the rise of diabetes epidemic in the country as many people are physically inactive and have higher Body Mass Index (BMI) (Khanet al., 2013). A survey revealed that the many citizens of Saudi Arabia are undiagnosed and untreated for diabetes disorder.  Therefore, maintaining high standard of health service is critical to improve public health and facilitate early diagnosis to control debilitating condition due to disease (El Bcheraoui et al., 2015). This approach to providing adequate health service to Arabian citizens will help in combating non-communicable disease and other health condition. Research study by Orchard et al., (2013) also shows that diabetes prevention program intervention leads to overall improvement in lifestyle, use of less medication among patients.  

The hospital’s objective emphasizes on complying the quality protocol to maintain high standard of care. Following this protocol is important to enable successful integration of health system and reduce medical errors committed by clinicians. Effective relationship between service provider and service user is the symbol of trust and patient’s satisfaction with the service. Satisfying patients need can also be achieved by personalized medical service and maintaining high service quality (Changet al., 2013). If the health administrators or the hospital’s manager take appropriate steps to maintain consistency in service, then the hospital can surely build a reputation for itself as a hospital with international standard of care (Al-Borie, & Sheikh, 2013). Furthermore, the organization will follow all the guidelines that are considered as obligatory for every organization of the health care sector (Ishfaq et al., 2016).

Critical Analysis of the Organization

For every organization, examination and analysis of its capability in the operation sector is an important factor. Therefore, in this report, the preparedness of the General Hospital for achieving its objectives has been studied in detail through the help of specific analysis of the corporation. Two methods will be used in identifying and evaluating internal factors of the hospital that can supports changes.

The SWOT analysis acronym emanated from the four aspects (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). SWOT is comprised of both internal and external factors and this has been found that the internal factors will help in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the General Hospital. On the other hand, the external factors will mainly help in understanding the organization’s opportunities and threats (Albedah et al., 2016) Therefore, it can be said that the SWOT analysis will help the firm in transforming its weaknesses and threats into strengths and opportunities and thus, it will assist in running the firm successfully by meeting all its objectives. The SWOT analysis of the of the concerned healthcare organization is discussed below:

Strength

• The first strength of the hospital in Saudi Arabia is the ease of access to the health service in the hospitals for Saudi citizens.
• Another competitive advantage of the hospital is that it has strong and focused leaders to effectively guide team of health professionals.
• The hospital also has specialized clinicians and diagnostics staffs which is an advantage for the hospital.
• The general hospital of Saudi Arabia also has future plans in place for improvement in service and clinical skill of health care staff.

Weakness

• One major weakness of the hospital is that it has very limited capacity and cannot serve large groups of Saudi communities.
• Although strong and focused leaders are present at the hospital, however the accurate patient safety standards are still not established in the hospital

• Another weakness of the hospital is it weak information technology system.

Opportunity

• The support of MOH and the renewed focus on communication method is a chance for the hospital to overcome the barrier in achieving the goal of the organization
• Developing the skills of the staff can give new opportunity to meet the increased demands and expectation in the medical field
• The current advancements in medical technology can also encourage the hospital to engage in quality improvement initiative.
• The Saudi Arabian government has also taken the initiative to improve the contract for non-Saudi, this will enable more number of people to access the care in hospital without any distress.

Threats

• One major threat identifies for the hospital is its location.
• The hospital has shortage of radiologist specialist.
• The growth in population of Saudi Arabia might also negatively affect the performance of the hospital.

In addition to this analysis, in order to determine the suitability degree of the action of the hospital as per the present situation and objectives of the business, McKinsey 7S Model approach has also been implemented in this report and this has been provided below:

This approach helps in implementing strategies effectively (Alqahtani et al., 2016). This tool investigates seven parameters: strategy, structure, systems, shared values, styles, staff and skills.

The McKinsey 7s model lays emphasis on strategy, structure, shared values, system, staffs, skills and styles of general hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is likely to spend heavily on healthcare sector. This will be done specially in demographic face trend that will double the population share over 65 years of age (Khalifa, 2013). Strategy concerning healthcare services should be able to facilitate modern communication means among the staffs of healthcare sector and providing standard health care. It is required by kingdom to significantly increase the number of healthcare professionals for meeting the future needs. Due to the rising expected demand, it is required by kingdom hospitals to fill 10000 position in nursing by year 2030 (Aleisa et al., 2014). There is an overspecialization of physicians having an acute shortage of family medical practitioners. Perceived or real political barriers for profession such as night shift and weekend work also calls for an innovative solution. This would help in determining the challenges faced by organization and its objective, which is to improve the service quality.  

Culture in healthcare facilities of kingdom is described as being hierarchal. Top-level management consist of Chief executive officer, healthcare managers and directors. However, this structure needs be evolved as it provides limited room for staffs to take on advanced and more specialized tasks such as taking care of critical patients and curing complex and tough diseases. Process of evaluation is managed by service of staff management. There is centralization of authority and decision-making lies in the hand of senior level management that is managing director. Hospitals have protocol concerning quality improvement, which is laid down by the higher level management and is conveyed down to different parts of the organization and the teams try to organize their work by keeping in mind the objectives of the healthcare organization (Alkhamis et al 2017) 

It can be said that the hospital has more strengths than its weaknesses and threats, thus, it will run successfully in future. The most important factor is the accessibility that helps in fulfilling the goals of the hospital by the process of maintenance of good standard of health care. The easy accessibility is considered as the strength factor for General Hospital as it is located centrally and is committed more towards reaching out to the local communities and in delighting them. Thus, this focuses the culture of the openness (Vasquez &Medhekar, 2016).

 Moreover, the assessment of this service is considered as critical as this plays role in improving the community’s health status and attaining health equity. It has been found that the health status of the country is poor as most of the people are suffering from high blood pressure, obesity and high cholesterol.

On the other hand, the health equity determines the reasons for differences in the health quality and healthcare across various populations and these include the work pressure and the lifestyle of the people.

 Furthermore, for a health care sector, focused and strong leader is required as they help in providing training to the employees to handle critical and emergency situations efficiently. Moreover, focused leaders assist the staffs in engaging in rotating roles during the period of emergency. Additionally, builds team structure (flexible) and plans creative solutions for addressing any problem. Furthermore, the accurate leaders like the managing directors and the top level management to establish a guide as well as motivate the employees and thus betterment of work performance takes place easily.

It has been found that the organization follows contingency leadership theory, thus, at various situations. Moreover, stable interaction aids the leader to appreciate the team members’ concern and to find out newer ways for completing the job. Moreover, the appreciation of the employees helps in motivating them and in considering their ideas in the empowerment of the project for taking new proposal in career.

Moreover, Specialized health care professionals are integral to the reputation of the health care organization and it can help in the realization of the objective of the organization. For example, specialist trained doctors have additional skills and real world medical training to interpret diseases and gain access to diagnostic information. They are aware of latest imaging technology that can give detail on diagnostic information of patients. Radiologists in the hospital are also present with specialist training to make the diagnostic process easier (Trybou et al., 2014)

The General Hospital has certain plans for future for the development of the service and the clinical skill of the staffs. This attribute is for the improvement of the service to keep up with the demands that changes with time and in attaining the vision as well as mission of the hospital. Based on the service quality, the main component of the successful running of hospitals can be understood (Aljuaid et al., 2016).

The hospital has a smaller capacity only 50 beds and this is a main drawback. It creates barrier in the achievement of objectives of the hospitals. The inadequate capacity has found to discourage most of the patients from coming to the hospital. Therefore, the reputation of the hospital will also be at stake. Moreover, the limited capacity might also influence the performance of the hospital negatively and thus it might lead to an ineffective administration of resources. For instance, the limited capacity of a hospital with respect to handling to cancer patients due to lack of innovative machines to detect the disease may lower the quality of service and that may drift the hospital from their main objectives that were prepared by the top level management. Other weaknesses include inaccurate safety standard of the patient and this is indicated through increment in the cases of readmission and injuries at the duration of staying in hospital and unexpected deaths. This implies certain safety standards are remained unchecked. Thus, the nonexistence of the safety standards of the patient is considered as a challenging one and this acts as a chief obstacle in accomplishing the hospital’s objectives. Generally, the health information technology assists in gathering various health information retrieval, optimizing and sharing the data in medication and health. Nevertheless, weaker information technology leads to poorer integration and documentation of data. The record system of patient in General Hospital still follows manual and thus, this has an influence on the delivery and demands of health care. It has been found that there is short of IT system like electronic recording system of health to augment the health care delivery pace (Walker, 2014). Thus, it hinders the flow of work at hospital. There are various steps that can be taken by the organization in order to improve this situation that will be discussed further in this paper.

The PESTLE analysis is also considered as a significant instrument as this assists in detecting all the externals factors that primarily influence the hospital. These factors include –political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental. Therefore, the PESTLE analysis of General Hospital of Saudi Arabia has been discussed. Moreover, its importance has been identified in case of the hospital as it aids in detecting the risks associated with the corporation. As a result, based on the outcomes of the analysis, the decisions can be taken according to the points that are discussed in the PESTLE Analysis. The PESTLE Analysis is discussed below:

There are many opportunities for the General Hospital, the approach of communication method gives opportunity to overcome the problems in health care delivery and to supply “patient-centered” care. Thus, this renewed the focus and it helps in attaining the hospital objective and in developing patient’s satisfaction along with the provided service. For example, Ministry of Health (MOH) worked to remove traditional communication channels via emails and bulletin and it introduced the standardized desktop environment for all. There is plan for portable electronic device which all staffs can easily use to delegate task. This form of accurate communication methods will be a guide for the health care team and empower them to build a meaningful connection with the patients and other stakeholders in hospital setting. Moreover, there is rapid development in medical technology in Saudi Arabia and it gives new opportunity to the hospital for optimum utilization of health resources and maintains balance between medical and preventive service. The main benefit of technological innovation especially for the hospital is that it leads to reduction in service cost and encourages safety and quality (Aldebasi& Ahmed, 2013). It will also lead to better ways of diagnosis and accuracy in treatment. New medical equipment also gives the hospital the opportunity to treat patients without the need of invasive procedures. The application of the clinical informatics in care will act as best practice to reduce error in hospital and strengthen health care delivery by means of IT advances (Kellerman & Jones, 2013). Furthermore, improving the contract for non-Saudi professionals will enable them to get housing accommodation and transportation allowance along with other benefits. This is a new opportunity to increase the number of staffs at the hospital and diverse range of health staffs coming from different countries can be a vital resource to provide best health service at the hospital. Saudi government serves to assemble the goals of the hospital for developing the reputation of the organization, as one offers high quality of health care in the nation (Paczkowski et al., 2016).

As the hospital is located in a rural area, it has been found that several new doctors are hesitant for joining the hospital (Qureshi& Syed, 2014). However, if any doctor joins the health care center, their performance is affected due to more time that is spent in the travelling. Moreover, the radiologist plays a vital role in a patient safety, in retaining the information technology and in improvement in care but it has been found that the hospital has lack of radiologist specialist. Furthermore, the growth in population is considered as a risk to the management of hospital as it will raise the demand of the health service.

Therefore, it can be said that the SWOT analysis of the hospital revealed both the negative and positive elements of the organization and this will considerably has influence on attaining the hospital’s goals. Thus, a single key aspect from the SWOT analysis that is critical to manage the goals of the hospital and this is the attendance of precise patient safety standards in the setting of health care.

PESTLE analysis provides more insight into the hospital general of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It forms the basis for realizing the impending challenges in healthcare sector of Saudi Arabia and addressing them. In spite of the challenges faced by the sector, these general hospitals have the wider scope of achieving their intended objectives. This is so because the country enjoys stable interest rate and high buying power of services of healthcare services (Paczkowski et al., 2016). Interest rate stability in the country affects private hospitals in Saudi about sales volume and development of health services (Al Mutair et al., 2014). Strategies of healthcare services are influenced by legal and political factor of central government. It includes legal restrictions, policies, objectives, taxation laws and legislative authority. Concept of taxation is not applied in the country, which gives an opportunity to people to consume more and medical services. Due to the development of surgical techniques and technological advancement leading to growth of healthcare sector (Al-Borie and Sheikh 2013).

Market of Saudi Arabia is rich in different kinds of services and goods and this has a positive impact on purchasing power of people. High income of Saudi people should be paid attention by health services marketing. It is required by Saudi hospitals to be aware of culture, race, education, buying habit, age distribution and lifestyle of people as it is dominated by wide selection of people from different sources. Hospitals needs to promote product that is appealing to consumers from different social background (Abukhader 2015). This will help in maximizing sales volume and enable fulfilment of potential market share. Considering economic factors, there is a positive trend in investment tendencies and savings generated by people. This indicates that savings generated can be used in buying advanced medical services. Hospitals in Saudi are challenged by gap in equity, which can be the major challenge. This is so because, it would be required by hospitals for providing varied medical services at varied price range at price that is affordable (Aldhaban, 2016).

Managers of hospitals were not required with updating of technologies as it helps in creating new opportunities and marketing. Therefore, managers are required to study these updating technologies for adopting in their hospitals. One of the environmental factor is to speeding changing environmental factor. Hospitals in Saudi Arabia has a positive significant influence on technological environment.

Activities are coordinated in accordance with modern ways of communication and training of staffs. Service management staffs are the main division working at the hospital, which is intended to focus on quality of healthcare provided. Human resource department of healthcare units are in proper place for recruiting talented healthcare professionals and physicians so that they are able to utilize efficiently latest healthcare technology (Alhamdanet al., 2015).

A team of quality management sets out rules and regulations of staffs, which is used to review performance of team.There have been the issue of labor and staffing and beside this issue; private hospitals would play an important role in Saudi Healthcare going forward. For the growth of hospitals, there is a need to have clearer sense of which provisioning areas are open for expansions. It can be explained with the help of an example, service provision of health sector in areas such as long-term care secondary care hospitals; private sectors operators can efficiently scale up rehab and day surgery (Alharbiet al. 2015).

Above exhibit depicts that there is a lost employment opportunity in healthcare sector of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is estimated that if the rate of Saudiazation for health professionals is doubled by kingdom to two third. It is likely that as many as 40000 jobs would be created. A declining trend would be reversed if there is an increasing number of Saudis who are becoming health professionals. This would require taking substantive effort for improving perception of professional concerning healthcare among the talented young Saudis. One of the biggest limitation of Kingdom hospitals is that they have limited offerings of practical on the job training for staffs and nurses (Alhelaliet al., 2016). This factor affects the performance of hospital as the staff members lack necessary skills. In turn, hospitals lack the competent and advantages as compared to their rivals.

Culture of teams in hospitals is positive as focused leaders, which act as motivating factor, influence it. Service improvement is continuously looked after by proper plans. Hospitals are focusing on transformative style of leadership and this is enabling them to realize the need of recognizing them as institutions delivering service of high quality. Transformational leadership has the ability to intellectually stimulate employees by encouraging them to solve problem-oriented tasks. They intend to develop high quality leader member exchange (Alhowaish, 2014). Therefore, it can be said that such leadership style has less chances of being in conflict with hierarchy. Staffs members of hospitals have proper coordination with team leaders and this is aligned with service improvement.

It is evident that hospitals practice real functioning of teams and this is so because issues related to safety and staffs are not addressed in a manner leading to immediate response. In the current scenario, hospitals have nurses and physicians and Non Saudis contribute the major share of employees in hospitals. There is a wide gap in health professional knowledge about updated technology and hospitals lacks specialized clinicians and experienced surgeons. With the technological advancement, there is a need to meet requirements for expansion (Alijohaniet al., 2015).

Stakeholders are the critical part of any organization; therefore, activation of stakeholder engagement should be considered to help the hospital to achieve its objective (Freeman et al., 2010). The stakeholders play a fundamental role in the organizational decision making. In the hospital, the director and management board have high power and high interest in attaining the objective. Because the patients are the central of care. The management consider the client's satisfaction is optimum goal, so modern communication methods with patients should be implemented. This can be done by implementing Electronic Health Record and online survey about the hospital services.

The obligation to the provision of quality healthcare services requires the involvement of all stakeholders linked to the medical sector. Engagement between the hospital management and patients is vital in bringing meaningful change. Stakeholders engage through the meetings to discuss the need to bring meaningful change within the hospital. In this case, the discussion is centred on complying a good standard of care is critical to providing patient satisfaction (Walston et al., 2008; Andersen et al., 2009; Eden & Ackermann, 1998).

Standard of safety maintained in the hospitals are interrelated to information technology system present in hospitals. It is evident from several research that for improving quality of care provided at the hospitals requires a culture of patient safety. Various elements concerning patient safety standards includes quality improvement program, organizational learning program. It also include health care service area improvement, which would assist in addressing staffing, communication issues and medical error (Alkahtani&Al-Hariri, 2016). It is also required by hospitals to have an improved staffing level so that it deals with threats arising from doctors abandoning them.

Hospitals in kingdom faces challenges in implementation of information technology. Challenges related to workforce lack of training and awareness for effectively using the system. Technical challenges including software and hardware issues is prevalent in healthcare system. Therefore, hospitals should maintain and concerned for delivering quality services by way of technical up gradation and employee knowledge enhancement.

MOHowns approximately 60% of all the hospitals within the kingdom. Facilities of MOHare increasing day by day and they are becoming mostly available to Saudi nationals. As a consequence of this, nearly 5.5 million expatriates within the kingdom are being forced towards the private health sector (Alkhamis et al., 2017). Healthcare treatment for employees in quasi and government organization is effectively free. Shortage of nurses, doctors and beds is prevalent in hospitals of Kingdom and it has the lowest number of doctors, nurses and beds per population. Increasing demand of health services within the kingdom is being recognized as critical issue. In response to this, government is planning to build 12 new hospitals. There are additional 120 hospitals under construction and this will increase in current supply by 68% (Alqahtani&Jones, 2015).  It is also attempted by government to improve access to specialist care in different regions of country.

Current healthcare sector in kingdom is dominated by presence of insurance companies and is driven by quality versus cost. There is a urban rural divide and services are concentrated on key cities, which creates an opportunity for private sector. There is a shortage of healthcare resources as there is a lack of better opportunities and training facilities. There is a supply gap and it is required to fill the gap by supplying local medical professionals (Al-Mazrou, et al., 2017).

In the healthcare organization of Saudi, a leadership gap spans jurisdictions and affects the career of individual and institutional performance. It is evident from social science, which indicates that leadership style has a major influence on outcome, performance and minimal transfer to healthcare. Nurse Manager practice the dominant leadership style, which affects the willingness and satisfaction of staffs for exerting extra efforts. Several problems are faced by nursing leaders in Saudi Arabia relates to mixed workforce such as retention problems and retention, cultural difference and high turnover rate (Alotaibi, 2014). For managing diverse nursing workforce of Saudi Arabia, healthcare sector needs to have motivated, successful and visionary leaders. There is an increasing demand of competent and skilled leaders in the current and future rapid developing health environment. This is so because; it will inspire staff members with a vision of what can be accomplished despite of several challenges. It is required by leaders in healthcare sector to achieve their goals and perform their task (AlYami & Watson, 2014). 

During this module, I have explored the value of the internal and external environment, and its impacts on the development of the hospitalparticularly, when accomplishing the hospital objective. I have addressed workforce related challenges and challenges related to some significant issues while working in general hospitals of kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, analysing this would contribute to achieving quality improvement objective. Key aspects of SWOT analysis reveal patient safety in healthcare (Al-Mazrou et al., 2017). This is interrelated with accountability level and information system. The improvement in patient safety can be introduced in the healthcare management by tackling the issues that are concerned with the information system in the healthcare system.

With the knowledge, I have gained from my experience in general hospitals, I have learned that healthcare technology implementation faces resistance. In light of this resistance, I will use this knowledge for conducting training for staff members for eliminating these issues and achievement of objectives of general hospitals (Khalifa, 2013).In order to understand and make myself well acquainted with challenges faced by staff members, I would use transformational leadership. Incorporation of this would help in meeting the demands of health care technology and making themselves adopted to technology by motiving and encouraging staff. Staff members can be motivated by instilling in them that technology would help in advancing their jobs and thus making them feel secure (Légaréet al. 2013). Needs of healthcare technology would be met by effective training helping in creating confidence and motivating staffs. This would not only assist in seamless adoption of new technology and prevent frustration among employees but also help the hospital to achieve its objective.

Exclusive training should be given on areas that are required by general hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Mohamed et al., (2015) explained that it is necessary to obtain feedback after implementation as it would help in identifying the issues, which are still faced by clinicians and nurses and redesigning the process of workflow. After identification of key issues, several things need to be prioritized for tackling them. Therefore, it is essential to take this step for achieving objective of maintaining and delivery of quality health care services.

As a leader of aradiology team, I will make sure that sufficient skills and trainings have been provided to the team members and alsoall the employees of the organization, especially, those who will take participation in the specified project earlier to the real appointment within the plan. Moreover, the training for the employees would involve several tasks and these include care for the consumers, trained skills for communications and learner services. The training would even involve on-job practice with the complex and innovative healthcare machine that are used for examinations and investigations of the patients. There is a need to provide widespread training that are essential for general hospitals functioning in Saudi Arabia and feedback from the technicians and the nurses are necessary to find out the challenges that are still pertinent in the healthcare system so that these issues can be rectified and an efficient healthcare can be established.

This module has been significant in many ways, most markedly in that it has shown to the author the requirement for successful leadership to enhance change in the hospital.Leadership is essential for any organization as it is a people centric approach that aligns the individual goal with that of organization. Leadership enable the organization to have working in the capacity of leading, planning and coordination of activities of business (Reeves et al., 2013).

I believe that a strong and focused leader is essential in health care sector as he or she will lead the team of health professionals to handle all kind of emergencies. Planning is continuous before setting the objective and adaptable to the analysis of specific situation. In times of emergency, a leader may engage in rotating role of clinicians, building a flexible team structure and planning creative solutions address problems (Swayne et al., 2012).They encourage the team for better performance and provide proper guidance to meet the objective of high standard of care in the hospital. According to contingency leadership theory, efficient leaders do not have a single way to lead as their decision is based on different situations at work (Chemers, 2014). Hence, the main strength of this leadership style is that it has helped a leader to be effective in particular context or situation. The contingency approach of leadership is beneficial for the organization as it allows a leader to modify the roles of staffs to ensure success in specific situation. This type of leadership style provides integrated solutions to a company irrespective of the scope of the project (Canals, 2014). Similarly, presence of such clinical leader ensures that high quality of care is consistently provided. They work together with the team of health professionals to overcome health staff issues while responding to changing customer expectations and addressing issues related to quality and safety of patients. They are visionary leaders who direct the team towards a common goal by organized learning and strong coordination between team members. Constant interaction helps a leader to understand concern of team members and discover new ways to complete a task. Their appreciation for the efforts of the team member motivates the team and taking their ideas in a project empower them to take new initiative in career (Daly et al., 2014).

The National Health Service (NHS), (2013) has developed healthcare leadership model which comprises of nine dimensions of leadership behaviour, namely, inspiring shared purpose, leading with care, evaluating information, connecting our service, sharing the vision, engaging the team, holding to account, developing capability, influencing for results. These behaviours significantly impact the author, which create a brilliant perspective of how the leaders should interact with the followers and reflect their abilities to comply and sustain the quality of service and afterward to obtain the organization objective.

In addition, the NHS has set leadership framework (NHS, 2104), these inspired and enabled the author to deliver the role of effectively. Details have been outlined in below:

 The expression of the personal qualities will be considered as an important factor that would encourage the departmental employees for contributing efficiently to the attainment of the goals. The reason behind this is that a consummate leadership is considered as more critical than it was ever earlier. It incorporates setting of correct qualities for others, capability to meet up people with the qualities to which a leader requires to demonstrate transparency in the method of communication. It also includes capability to resolve the issues that are related to the input of the employees in the process of decisions, also eliminates the fears and worries from the conclusion and benchmarking regulations to diminish the biasness, to enhance the concern of the employees by listening to them, as well as, develops favourable environment for work (Daly et al., 2014). These features will contribute in enhancing the ability of the hospital to meet its goal.

I can help to provide support for quality improvement in the hospital. My first approach will be to identify kind of preventive service needed at the hospital and identify any gap in it by assessing daily report of patients. This will help in identifying the level of application of health information technology by the health professionals. Then appropriate steps can be taken to enable use of health decision support tools so that health provider uses this tool at time of care (Abualrub&Alghamdi, 2012). However, without the support of health care leaders, this quality improvement initiative cannot be a complete success. Presence of leader will help in proper alignment of service and they will also play a role in encouraging health care staffs to use the technology and treat patients with utmost commitment. This attitude is relevant to the transactional theory of leadership by which exchange of ideas occur between leaders and followers.

By this module, I understood that effective communication is also integral to safe health care delivery and I aim to develop collaborative process of task delegation to avoid confusion and promote safety practice at the hospital. This is dependent on mutual trust relationship and positive relationship with staffs. It will help a leader to find new means to motivate staffs to perform the assigned task (McCleskey, 2014).  Transactional leader values mutually beneficial relationship and such leaders will ensure that consistent feedback of patients is taken to consistently maintain safe and high quality of care (Antonakis& House, 2014). They will be a great source in encouraging physician and nurses to involve health information technology in daily practice (Abualrub&Alghamdi, 2012).

From the author view,for the achievement of objective of healthcare, it is essential for the hospital to follow transformational leadership while working in a diversified group of people. There is a need to bridge the leadership gap in the hospital. Quality care services in healthcare of Kingdom has the elements required for success through work force and leadership support (Alqahtani&Jones 2015). There is a need to account for nursing leaders for addressing the barriers in advancing nursing practices. It is done with the intention of raising awareness among the staff’s members considering the adoption of new culture of excellence. Leadership structure in the management are encouraged for assessing the readiness of hospitals, which would involve high level of satisfaction of staff members (Almuayqilet al., 2015). This would go along with assessment of organizational and cultural climate for addressing gap in work environment.
