Read the scenario below. Answer the questions that follow.
Scenario… You have been asked to manage a large, society wedding taking place on the 14th of April 2020. There are going to be 2 000 guests coming from many parts of the world, lavish displays of flowers, music and entertainment, sightseers, media representatives and many other things to plan for and manage. No children are allowed. You would need a lot of management help, and that would involve delegating parts of the project to experts. To manage the wedding project, the following important parts of the wedding have been identified.
The wedding project will be used throughout the remainder of Assignment No. 2 and in the assignments to follow. QUESTION 1 THE PLANNING PHASE: WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE (WBS) [20 MARKS] 1.1 Select an appropriate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Using the Work Breakdown Structure divide the project into its relevant work packages with a numbering system. (20)
QUESTION 2: THE PLANNING PHASE: PROJECT SCHEDULING [22 MARKS] 2.1 Design a network diagram. (10)
2.2 Calculate the start and finish dates for each project activity. (10)
2.3 Explain the benefits of using milestones and hammock activities in project planning. The remaining 50% will be paid after quality inspections and sign-off.
