Assignment 1 - What does it mean to be an effective manager in a diverse workforce? Step 2: Find at least three credible journal articles in addition to the resources in Step 1 Now that you have noted how these two resources help you answer the question, what other peer-reviewed, academic journal articles can you find to help you build on those arguments? Select between 3 - 6 articles you wish to include. Take notes or mark up the articles to identify the key points. Next, analyse the key points in relation to the topic question. Use these key points to support your approach to answering the topic question in the 3 body paragraphs of your essay. Word limit 750 words +/- 10% (excluding reference list and in-text citations). The document must be typed in MS Word using in an appropriate font, e.g. Times New Roman, Helvetica, Cambria or Arial (size 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing and left aligned). The document must include: 2. An introduction (150 words): Briefly introduce the purpose of this essay. Within the introductory paragraph you will need to foreground or signpost key topics you will address in the body paragraphs for this essay. 3. Three Body paragraphs (150 words each) Remember to support your argument with in-text references (does not count towards overall word limit): (1) Analytical (not descriptive) paragraph on the Hartman and McCambridge article (2) Analytical (not descriptive) paragraph on the Schwartz video (3) Analytical (not descriptive) paragraph highlighting aspects of theory you determine are important from the first 4 sessions of Introduction to Managemen 4. A Conclusion (150 words): The conclusion must briefly summarise the key points in the body paragraphs. 5. Reference List: Include a separate reference list formatted according to Harvard style of referencing. (Links to an external site.) Step 4: Referencing guidelines Your reference list should include the Hartman and McCambridge article, the Schwartz (2014) TED Talk along with a minimum of three other credible sources: Hartman, J & McCambridge, J 2011, ‘Optimizing Millennials’ communication styles’, Business Communication Quarterly, vol. 74, no. 1, pp. 22-44.
