Choose one specialist health issue and one target population listed below and develop a poster communicating your health message to this community. 

Create an attractive flyer, with a clear, accurate evidence-based message that connects with your target population authentically. 

• The flyer should feature a catchy title

• The flyer should communicate a clear health message.

• It should be obvious by looking at the poster who is the target audience.

• It should be clear what the target population is being asked to do

• Remember less can be more. A simple clear message works best.

Part B Critical Reflection

Critically reflect on your poster commenting on visual and linguistic connections to target population. 

• Specify the target population & specialist health issue chosen

• Describe the visual and linguistic features used to connect with target audience.

• Describe actions do you want the audience to take eg immunise their child 

• Describe where the poster might be displayed or promoted 

Part C Critical Exploration of best evidence 

Undertake a critical exploration of best practice regarding your health issue using the headings below.

• Burden of disease: discussion of the prevalence and incidence rates for the disease in Australia and globally as relevant. If data is available state for target group also.

• Prevention/Harm minimisation: Preventative measures, such as vaccination, or harm minimisation measures should be discussed.

• Signs, Symptoms & Detection: Signs & symptoms should be clearly stated. Current evidence-based detection and screening of disease should be elucidated including relevant sensitivity & specificity data

• Treatment options: Treatment options for disease should be evidence based and discussed with reference to efficacy.
