The purpose of this essay is for you to consider both the immediate impact on, and responses to, the Covid-19 pandemic by your organisation as well as lessons that can be drawn from the experience. While each organisation is different you might wish to address some, or all, of the following considerations:

1. Identifying critical areas of vulnerability such as locational dependency, supply chain vulnerabilities, dependence on partners, key staff etc.

2. Immediate points of impact – sales, output, customers, supply restrictions, support services such as logistics etc

3. Impacts of government policies on trade, migration, travel etc

4. Organisational responses – shifts from offline to online supply, seeking government support, policy lobbying etc

5. Changes in organisational structures -shift to team working, home working, lay-offs, wage cuts, increased centralisation and speed of decision-making, communication issues,                    quality of leadership

6. Previous business continuity plans or initiatives resulting from past events (911, SARs, Christchurch earthquake, Sky city fire etc)

7. Any short and medium term response plans?

8. Lessons you or your organisation can take from the pandemic experience.
