Task:

Requirements 

You are to provide a professionally produced project proposal built around your approved ABP project. Your project proposal should highlight how the project:

- is located at a ‘site’ of appropriate size/complexity

- has a clear ‘stakeholder’ identified for the ‘site’ and for whom the outcome of the project will be of genuine and valid significance

- relates to a clear ‘issue’/’topic’, relevant to the ‘site’/’organisation’ and supported by the ‘stakeholder’

- is capable of being both completed within the time-frame of the paper and of achieving the level of ‘change’/’insight’ consistent with 300 hours of project activity at level 9 of study.

- is ofsuitable complexity in terms of stakeholders to be engaged with, resources marshaled, time sensitivity, soft skills utilised and so on.

- offers sufficient opportunity for the application of relevant models, tools and concepts, tools learnt on the MBA programme

- follows the guidelines provided by the ABP manager in terms of the project proposal structure and content.

Given that you must achieve a ‘B-‘ for ABP Part A in order to move to ABP Part B, it makes sense to aim for a grade of ‘B-‘ or better for this significant assessment piece.

The quality of proposal has been shown to impact on the quality of the subsequent project experience and so development of the proposal is allowed to be ‘iterative’.

Up to three submissions are permitted up to and including the final submission (see above for dates). For each iteration meeting this facility, the ABP manager will provide feedback and give an indication of whether it is yet at the level of ‘B-‘ or better if it were to be marked summatively. 

The classes for ABP Part A will focus on reflective and presentational practice, PDP formulation and providing guidance on preparing the project proposal and plan.

The proposalshould be typed in Microsoft word using Arial 11 point font with 1.5 line spacing. Ensure that academic conventions (eg project proposal structure, referencing, etc.) are adhered to and that it represents a professional business communication by being clear, concise, courteous and correct (i.e. grammar, punctuation and spelling).
